Why hello there! Two times in one whole week. A record for 2009!
So I'm sitting here eating goat cheese on triscuits. I wish I had some better crackers but I don't. Man, I love me some goat cheese. Huge fan! Of course, cheese is my favorite food in general: cheddar, blue, goat, cow, processed. You name it I'll eat it. Cheese. Yum.
In a few days, Saving Abel will be coming to town on tour with Nickelback. Now, this is where I admit that would rather have pins placed strategically into all my nerve endings to cause me great pain instead of going to hear Nickelback play. Yeah, that's how much I enjoy their music. However, Mr. Scott Bartlett is the current guitarist for Saving Abel and we're going to hang out that night. If you do not remember, or do not know, Mr. Bartlett was the guitarist with my ex-boyfriend (Fred Wittber for all of those out there doing a google search on his name - no, I don't know what he is doing so stop reading my blog to find out his whereabouts...) in a band called Rusty Lemon. Eons ago. I haven't seen Mr. Bartlett SINCE my Memphis days. It will be interesting to see how Wednesday night pans out. I have a feeling it will consist of a fair amount of alcohol.
Scott informed me that he will be done with his part of the show around 8 pm so I'm sure we'll get a drink or two sometime after that. In the world that I live in, very small world that it is, Scott ALSO knows Farrah as they went to Rhodes together. Small world.
Mmmmm....goat cheese.
Yes, I went out to see Mr. Wyatt and Mr. Jace in their first (technically second since they played at 2 pm today and I didn't see that game) soccer game. OMG. It was so cute!! Their team consists of 3, 4, 5 and 6 year olds running in a big pack back and forth, up and down the field. Sometimes they cry. "There's no crying in soccer!" Cute. Afterwards, we went to our favorite Mexican spot for a quick dinner and then Johnny, Alicia and myself went to the Blue Springs American Legion to the most awkward birthday party I have ever been. Picture this: woman turning 40 has her ex-boyfriend's band play at her 40th bday party. They have two kids but have never been married.
Awkward!
Alicia and I joined Bryan and Meredith for an evening of bad karaoke, provided by us, at some tiny shack (i.e. bar/Chinese restaurant) called Double D's. Yes, not exactly what you were picturing when you think of a bar called Double D's. Instead of double d's and stripper poles we got free crab rangoon with our bottled beer and the sweet sounds of our own beautiful melodies. Um. Okay. We sucked on the karaoke and there were only 10 of us there (all our group) but we seemed to have a good time. Giggles was really going tonight. (That's Alicia). OMG she cracks me up when she giggles. Even when we were little she giggled like that.
I wish I had drank more so I can forget how awful I was singing everything! At least we were all pathetic with our singing!
Okay. It's time for beddie bye. I have to work tomorrow. Surprise!
Oh. I forgot to mention that I started I, Robot. I really like it but it just proves to me that books are always better than the movie. Except in the case of The Princess Bride where the movie follows the book. Literally word for word. Interesting. Try to prove me wrong. I read the book while watching the movie.
Yeah, I'm that kind of nerd.
Hi cus, still alive ? got the midwest blues, see ya soon..calif is the place to be...
